HomeWelcome to Al-Bab Rugby. This site is a tribute to the Under 19s Rugby team that successfully competed in the 2006 Dubai International Rugby Sevens Tournament. Out of 18 teams, Al Bab on their very first appearance in the tournament, came second place in the main trophy cup.
Al-Bab Rugby is the realization of a concept founded by UAE national Wael Al-Sayegh and South African national Mahdi Johnson. Al Bab in Arabic means the door. The name stands as a symbol of life’s choices. Our lives as human’s beings are shaped by the doors we choose to walk through in life. Some doors lead us to places which make us better human beings whilst others take us to places that do not. The teams purpose is to encourage the youth involved to always think of the destination the doors they come across lead to. |
